The app in short

Fullscreen
Labels are a very important source of information still little considered by consumers. They allow us to understand the composition of the product, its origin and reliability. The Label BioHero app, available for both
Android’s and iOs, aims to fill this gap: users can scan (eco-)logos, labels and EU certification schemes, understand what they are buying and thus make informed choices. In particular, it focuses on bio-based non-food and non-energy products, such as packaging and textiles. The labels in the app are divided into six different categories:
  1. bio-based content
  2. sustainability of forestry biomass
  3. textiles products
  4. end-of-life (what happens at the end of the product lifetime, such as biodegradability)
  5. multi-issue (labels that cover more than one environmental aspect, e.g. Blue Angel))
  6. others (labels that are not directly related to bio-based or biodegradable products as they deal with topics such as fair trade or recycling).

The game in short

Fullscreen
Saving the Earth by transforming our lifestyle from fossil to bio-based is the goal of the Mission BioHero mobile phone game for smartphones and tablets.
The game, available for Android and iOS users, owes its name to the challenge we are invited to take on. It consists of eight campaigns, each on a specific theme that the player must complete to save the Earth.

The campaigns include quizzes, tasks, mini-games to transform a city from a fossil-based value chain to a bio-based one, the acquisition of special skills and a lexicon summarising important definitions.

Everyone who has a mobile phone and is over 12 years old can play Mission BioHero
